Volrick D. Morrison, D.O.
Board Certified, Osteopathic Internal Medicine
Dr. Morrison has been practicing medicine for over 10 years and is a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician. He has also been designated by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) as a Civil Surgeon and performs the Immigration Medical Exam required for most Green Card applicants. Since beginning his career in medicine, Dr. Morrison has demonstrated a distinct commitment to patient care with a team oriented mindset and a compassionate ethos. Dr. Morrison enjoys cultivating a positive physician-patient experience through effective communication and strong collaboration with other physicians.
Dr. Morrison is a native of Miami, Florida and received his Bachelor of Science-Biology from the University of Miami; a Master of Science from Barry University; and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has earned his stripes in the health field for the last 20 years as he has worked in variety of clinical settings including the Veterans Administration Hospital, Columbia Hospital, Aventura Hospital and most recently Boca Raton Regional Hospital. In his early years in medicine, he participated in health fairs, blood drives, facilitated research, served as a peer mentor in a summer science program, and taught science at a local high school in Hialeah.
Passionate is an adjective often used to characterize Dr. Morrison’s commitment to the health field. He is an advocate for the field and will continue to be instrumental in the continued progression of patient care. He is passionate about community service and serves as a peer group facilitator with his alma mater.
Katherine Martinez, APRN
Board Certified, Advanced Nursing Family Practice and Medial Surgery Nursing
Katherine Mendez-Martinez, APRN received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and her Master’s Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Barry University. She is board certified in both Advanced Nursing Family Practice and Med-Surg Nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a current member of the South Florida Council of Advanced Practice Nurses (SFCAPN) of Broward.
Katherine has a passion for preventive health and treating the body as a whole. She is a strong advocate for the nursing profession and has educated dozens of new, inexperienced nurses as a preceptor while she was a Registered Nurse on a Cardiac-Specialized floor.
She currently assists her husband with the family-owned physical training lab in North Miami and also has been volunteering as a school nurse/catechist for St Rosa De Lima’s Catholic School in Miami Shores.
Katherine was born and raised in Miami Beach, Florida with her Cuban-born parents and older sister. She is fluent in Spanish and English. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, watching the latest movies and spending time with her family.
